Chin Surgery
Chin surgery is an area of cosmetic surgery that is often done in
conjunction with corrective jaw (orthognathic) surgery. It can, however be
done as an out-patient cosmetic procedure for those patients with excessive
or deficient chins desiring a correction. The surgery is very simple and
straightforward. It does not involve implants in the chin area, but is an
easily accomplished repositioning of the bony chin. Dr. Moriconi has

Gummy Smile
"The gummy smile is a common problem noticed by many patients. Often it is
attributed to the malposition of the teeth, but in fact represents, in many
cases, an overgrowth of the upper jaw. This results in an inability to close
the lips at rest, and may lead to mouth breathing and subsequent upper gum
irritation and eventual bone loss around the teeth. The surgical correction
of this problem can often be done in young adults in or after orthodontic
treatment, or in adults without simultaneous orthodontic treatment. Feel
